TEMPORARY SUMMER E&O FIELD SUPPORT

Stearns Electric Association, a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving over 29,000 members in the Central Minnesota area, is seeking to hire one (1) temporary summer Engineering and Operations Field Support position.

This role will assist the Engineering and Operations (E&O) department. The candidate will assist with E&O tasks, typically physical labor in an outdoor setting. Jobs include neutral isolator testing on overhead and pad mount services, testing substation sticks and substation construction work. Additional jobs may include shoveling, sweeping, painting and moving material and equipment. This position will work from May 1– August 2026. This position is temporary full-time (average 40 hours/week), non-benefits eligible. The pay rate is $20.00 per hour. The position will report to the Melrose facility.

Ideal candidates have the following qualifications:

• First year of electrical linework school, students with beginning level skills (no diploma needed)
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Willingness to accept routine, reoccurring tasks
• Reliable, mechanical, self-motivated and detail orientated
• Listening and communication skills, and ability to work independently while taking direction from others
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 75 pounds
• This position is subject to a mandatory background check, drug test and employment eligibility verification
