TEMPORARY APPRENTICE ELECTRICAL LINEWORKER
Stearns Electric Association, a member-owned electric distribution cooperative serving over 29,000 members in the Central Minnesota area, is seeking to hire four (4) temporary apprentice lineworker positions approximately May – October 2026 and two (2) temporary apprentice lineworker positions approximately June – November 2026.
Successful candidates will be involved in all facets of construction and maintenance of the Stearns Electric Association distribution system. These positions are temporary full-time (average 40 hours/week), non-benefits eligible. The pay rate is $33.36 per hour. The positions may report to the Melrose or St. Joseph facilities.
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
- Shall have an Electrical Lineworker diploma obtained through an approved program
- Possession of a Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License; ability to drive manual trucks and have a good driving record and valid health card
- Ability to climb and work at heights that may exceed 50 feet
- Ability to perform pole top rescue
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 100 lbs. or more
- This position is subject to a mandatory background check, drug test, including cannabis and hemp derived products and employment eligibility verification
