Seasonal line worker

Red River Valley Cooperative Power Association (RRVCPA), an electric cooperative serving 4,870 accounts in Clay, Norman and Polk counties in northwest Minnesota, is looking to hire a seasonal line worker to be located at its Moorhead outpost. RRVCPA maintains 1,800+ miles of line that is approximately 56 percent overhead line and 44 percent underground.

Candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Have obtained an electrical line worker diploma from an approved program or about to graduate from an approved program in Spring of 2026.
  • Have a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a valid health card.
  • Have knowledge of and the ability to learn all facets of construction and maintenance of the distribution system following Rural Utility Service construction specifications.
  • Be able to perform a pole top rescue and be in sound physical condition.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are necessary. Must have a pleasant and respectful demeanor when dealing with co-workers, members and the general public.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol check.

The position is expected to end in mid-fall. Being available for storm response, if needed, is also a requirement of the position. All work will be completed under the supervision of a Journeyman Line Worker. The pay for this position is $29.42 per hour.
