Operations Manager
Renville-Sibley Cooperative Power Association (RSCPA) is an electric power distribution cooperative nestled in the picturesque region of western Minnesota, approximately 2 hours southwest of the Minneapolis metro area, near the towns of Danube, Renville, and Olivia. With a proud commitment to serving 1,900 member/owner accounts primarily within Renville County, we stand as an integral part of our local community.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking a seasoned Operations Manager who will hold strategic level responsibility for engineering, operations (including work plan creation and implementation), safety, and managing union relations. This includes responsibility for line operations, staking, coordination with contractors, warehousing, and purchasing. The Operations Manager will serve as the main point of contact for Distributed Energy Resources (DER), and members interested in new services or upgrades. This role will oversee hiring, performance appraisals, and training plans across the Operations areas within the cooperative.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Journey Lineworker Certification.
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent work experience)
- Ten or more years of progressively more responsible roles within Operations.
- 2-3 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with members and colleagues.
- Ability to represent the cooperative externally, coordinate with utilities and contractors, and maintain positive member relations.
- Valid driver’s license, CDL preferred
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of electric distribution system construction, maintenance, and operations.
- Thorough knowledge of safety standards and protocols pertaining to electrical utilities.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce safety rules and proper use of PPE (experience managing a safety program is preferred).
- Ability to utilize technology tools such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), and records management systems.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, and relevant mapping software.
