Key Account Executive

The Key Account Executive manages the projects and processes of the Key Accounts Program to ensure that programs are implemented, and goals and customer service standards are exceeded. Responsible for growing commercial and industrial load management, promotion of energy conservation, account maintenance and the building of positive business relationships with all MVEC commercial and industrial accounts.


The Team Members are empowered to spend most time doing MVEC’s hands-on work. Leading by example, the Team Member’s focus is to:

  • Successfully carry out daily work, implement process improvements, suggest new ideas, serve on Teams, and proactively identify and resolve problems.
  • Participate in setting goals and investigate training opportunities to build their skill set which allows work objectives to further the cooperative's strategy.
  • Work cooperatively across departments, communicate effectively and be responsive.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors progress of the Key Accounts yearly goals and work plan. Ensures high member satisfaction and positive relationships with Key Accounts
  • Use established sales practices, rates, and other incentives to influence the sale and installation of off-peak/stand-by generation at members C&I sites
  • Develops expansion opportunities for existing key accounts and new opportunities in conjunction with community economic development efforts
  • Develops and delivers power quality, energy marketing and other services to key accounts members
  • Monthly monitoring of MVEC C&I account status in regards to rates, load management performance, load factor, power factor, payments, etc
  • Coordinates the communication between MVEC and member in products and services, system reliability, and daily account functions


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance or related field
  • 7 years experience with progressive responsibility in marketing, sales, consulting, or development
  • Creative/Innovative thinker and possess leadership qualities
  • Excellent people skills as well as great oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use good judgement and discretion
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills and ability to coordinate many projects
  • Confident and can demonstrate ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to keep privileged information confidential


Schedule/Location:

On-site at our office location in Jordan, MN.


Pay and Benefits:

Starting Wage: $109,447 - $120,392/annually
