APPRENTICE OR JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICAL LINEWORKER
Full-time; non-exempt; benefit eligible
- Join an electric distribution cooperative that is member driven and community focused.
- Working primarily at our Branch Office facility in St. Joseph, MN. Occasional work at our Operations Center and Headquarters facility in Melrose and in our service territory.
- This position performs duties associated with the construction and maintenance of the Cooperative’s overhead and underground electric distribution system.
- Starting wage can range from $41.69 – 55.58 per hour, depending on experience and education. This position is non-exempt/hourly with overtime work. Benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability and retirement plans upon eligibility.
In this role, you will:
- Construct, rebuild and maintain overhead and underground distribution lines, including energized and de-energized work, outage response, system inspections and corrective actions.
- Operate and maintain distribution and substation equipment, vehicles, tools and heavy equipment needed for line construction, maintenance and emergency response.
- Ensure work is completed safely, reliably and productively by following specifications, safe work practices and required reporting procedures.
- Support a strong safety culture by caring for equipment, reporting hazards or incidents promptly, training Apprentice Linemen and participating in safety meetings and procedures.
Required qualifications:
- Completion of an electrical lineworker approved program and diploma.
- Apprentice lineworker having a minimum of 3,000 hours may apply however, preference will be given to candidates with 4,000 hours or a journeyman lineworker.
- Possess Class “A” CDL and an acceptable driving record.
- Must exhibit a high commitment to safety and compliance with safety rules.
- Ability to climb and work at heights that may exceed 50 feet; ability to perform pole top rescue.
- This position will be required to be on an on-call rotation when eligible and live within 15 miles (measured in a straight line) of the reporting office in St. Joseph, MN.
