The Pre-Conference is designed to outline the basics of metering as a foundation for the Meter School Basic/Intermediate class.

NOTE: Meter school participants register for their preferred class: Intermediate OR Advanced
INTERMEDIATE METERING
The Basic/Intermediate Metering course is aimed at electric personnel with little experience with electric meters. This training will build on the pre-conference session with more hands-on training.

- Why we have electric meters
- Single phase meters & meter forms
- Current transformers & voltage transformers
- PPE for electric meter safety
- Electric meter safety
- Tools needed for working with electric meters
- Mounting electric meter sockets
- Single phase socket wiring
- Troubleshooting electric installations
- Theft of electric power
ADVANCED METER SCHOOL
The Advanced Meter School is intended for those who have a good working knowledge of meters/metering.
- An exam that participates self-correct; helpful focusing your training needs
- Troubleshooting problems on more than 15 different stations; working through scenarios that you may encounter at your utility
- Q&A all week long and more
WHAT TO BRING
- Arc flash shield (MMUA has a few shields that can be shared. DO NOT jeopardize employee safety by bringing your utility's only arc flash shield.)
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Secondary rubber gloves with leather protectors
- Voltage meter
- Calculator
- FR clothing
- Hand tools for meter installation/wiring
- Notebook and pen/pencil

2024 LATE REGISTRATION
All events in 2024 will be subject to a $50 late registration fee for anyone that registers less than 2 weeks prior to the published event dates.
