A Day in the Life
- Design and Develop Systems: Assist in designing electrical distribution and fiber systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Participate in the development of studies required by regulatory bodies.
- Problem-Solve and Innovate: Investigate system failures, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions. Explore new engineering technologies and standards to enhance system performance.
- Collaborate and Present: Work with teams across departments to support engineering functions. Present study plans and engineering-related presentations to management, staff, and members.
- Maintain and Analyze Data: Keep engineering models and databases up to date, perform load and voltage studies, and review compliance with applicable codes and constructions practices.
What You’ll Need
- Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with an Electrical Power emphasis, plus at least three years of engineering experience with an electric utility, or equivalent knowledge.
- Credentials: Valid Minnesota Driver’s License required; passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in engineering software, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to perform complex mathematical computations, high level of integrity, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Additional Details
- Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Braham, MN Operations South building.
- Hybrid Option: This position may offer a hybrid work arrangement after a training period.
