A Day in the Life
- Lead, Develop & Support Teams: Guide, develop, and support the Business Accounts and Energy Services teams, ensuring safe, efficient, and professional work practices.
- Manage Budget & Resources: Develop, monitor, and manage budgets.
- Handle Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to create and implement long-term strategies.
- Manage Business Accounts: Oversee marketing efforts for commercial and industrial members. Administer energy efficiency programs and help create competitive pricing strategies. Work with consultants to negotiate contracts and set rates.
- Manage Energy Services: Lead energy management programs to ensure all members benefit from energy savings and conservation efforts. Ensure compliance with energy regulations and track data for required submissions.
- Support Economic Development: Assist local communities and businesses with proposals that attract new business and collaborate on regional economic development strategies.
What You’ll Need
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, public relations, or a related field and at least seven years of relevant experience, including five years in a leadership or management role. Previous experience in the electric utility industry is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
- Credentials: NRECA Key Account Certification, NRECA Management Certification (MIP), or Economic Development Certification is preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. You should also have experience with energy programs, rate design, and commercial member support. A strategic mindset, analytical thinking, and the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners are essential. Knowledge of electrical utility systems, economic development tools, and energy efficiency programs will help you thrive in this role.

- Schedule: Monday through Friday at the Braham, MN Operations North building.
- Hybrid Option: This position may offer a hybrid work arrangement after a training period
