2nd step Apprentice/Journeyman Line Technician

Steele-Waseca Cooperative Electric (SWCE) is accepting applications for a full-time 2nd step Apprentice or Journeyman Line Technician. The successful candidate must have completed an accredited lineworker curriculum from a vocational institution and at least 4,000 hours in a Power Lineworker Apprentice Program. The successful candidate must possess a valid Minnesota Class A CDL, and medical card. Job duties include constructing, operating, and maintaining the distribution system. The ideal candidate will have computer skills and at least two years of field experience with Rural Utilities Service construction practices. 


SWCE offers a competitive salary and a challenging work environment with new technologies. The anticipated hiring range for this position is between $37.55 and $53.64 per hour. The final compensation offered is based on the apprentice wage scale, along with the candidate’s experience and skill level. In addition, this position is eligible for a comprehensive benefit package and possible on-call pay. This position requires heavy lifting and outdoor work in all kinds of weather. Upon offer of employment, SWCE will require the accepted applicant to pass a physical examination and drug screening.
